Objective
To continue to provide the student with the ability to speak and understand Spanish at a basic level.
Learning Outcome
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to understand spoken Spanish involving basic vocabulary to interact in Spanish in easy, every day life contexts; express basic concepts in Spanish; and understand aspects of contemporary Hispanic cultures.
Instruction
Major topics covered include present progressive, preterit, direct and indirect object pronouns; por and para; time expressions with hacer; and uses of ser and estar, saber vs. conocer; and common situations such as family relationships, personal characteristics, foreign travel, and eating at a restaurant.
Methods of instruction include oral drills, dialogues and written exercises.
