  • Allegheny County
    The official county government site.
    • Office of Property Assessment
    • Allegheny County Health Department
      Check here for a list of clinical services provided by the County as well as a list of new restaurant openings, reports on public drinking water systems, special reports on health topics.
    • Department of Human Services
      DHS services include: Programs serving the elderly, mental health services (includes 24-hour crisis counseling); drug and alcohol services; child protective services; at-risk child development and education; hunger services; emergency shelters and housing for the homeless; energy assistance; non-emergency medical transportation; job training and placement for youth and adults; and services for individuals with mental retardation and developmental disabilities.
  • Allegheny County Conservation District
    The government agency responsible for conservation of the county's soil resources.
  • Allegheny County Housing Authority
    ACHA is the public housing authority for Allegheny County and provides information on Low-Income Public Housing Application Procedure.
  • ALCOSAN (Allegheny County Sanitary Authority)
    ALCOSAN is responsible for the collection, transportation, treatment and disposal of sewage in Allegheny County, and certain adjacent areas and the collection, transportation, treatment and disposal of such industrial wastes as shall be acceptable to the Authority within said territory. The Authority’s service area is made up of the City of Pittsburgh and 82 neighboring municipalities in Allegheny County and parts of communities in Washington and Westmoreland Counties. The Authority serves an area of approximately 225 square miles with a population of about 900,000.
  • Allegheny County Comprehensive Plan
    What is your favorite place in Allegheny County? Allegheny Places, the County's Comprehensive Plan, will be developed using input from technical and planning experts and citizens of the County.
  • Allegheny Regional Asset District
    The District is an areawide special purpose unit of local government created by an act of the State Legislature that uses one-half of 1% local sales tax to fund regional assets. The other half of the sales tax provides funds for county and local government tax reform.
  • Pittsburgh International Airport
    Allegheny County Airport Authority manages the Pittsburgh International Airport (FlyPittsburgh.com) and the Allegheny County Airport.
  • Port Authority of Allegheny County (PAT Transit)
    The public transit system (buses) for Pittsburgh and Allegheny County.
  • Sports & Exhibition Authority of Pittsburgh & Allegheny County
    Previously known as the Public Auditorium Authority, the SEA is in charge of the David Lawrence Convention Center, the Civic Arena, and soon, the two new stadiums. A joint authority for Pittsburgh and Allegheny County.

    a voluntary organization of municipalities located in the South Hills area of Allegheny County, including: Baldwin Borough, Baldwin Township, Bethel Park, Brentwood, Castle Shannon, Dormont, Heidelberg, Jefferson Hills, Mt. Lebanon, Mt. Oliver, Pleasant Hills, Scott, South Park, Upper St. Clair, Whitehall
  • Turtle Creek Valley Council of Governments
    The Turtle Creek Valley Council of Governments is comprised of twenty municipalities located in the Eastern Suburbs of Pittsburgh. It includes the boroughs of Braddock, Chalfant, Churchill, East Mckeesport, East Pittsburgh, Edgewood, Forest Hills, North Braddock, Pitcairn, Plum, Ranking, Swissvale, Turtle Creek, Wall, Wilmerding, and Wilkinsburg; the townships of North Versailles and Wilkins; and the municipalities of Monroeville and Penn Hills.
  • Twin Rivers Council of Governments
    Serving the Mon-Valley Boroughs of Elizabeth, Glassport, Liberty, Lincoln, Port Vue, Madison, Versailles, West Mifflin, West Newton, and White Oak; the Townships of Elizabeth, Forward, and South Versailles; and The City of McKeesport.
