The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is postponing the shooting range grant program for 2009. The funds are being utilized by the Commission for shooting range development and advancement of Hunter Education. Thank you.

Nebraska offers hunter education for firearm users and bowhunters.

The Nebraska legislature passed in 1974 a

statewide hunter education law, charging the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission with the responsibility of training students to be safe, respectful and responsible while hunting. The law took effect in 1976. In 1993, the legislature passed a mandatory bowhunter education law.

The public and hunters demand that everyone who hunts does so in a safe, respectful and responsible manner. Following the safety rules taught by volunteer hunter education instructors can prevent hunting accidents.

Please review the options below and select the one that most fits your current needs.
