World wide concern is growing! Climate Change poses the greatest challenge to humankind. This time brings agreat opportunity for rethinking the way we live and making conscious choices and actions about what kind of communityand world we would like to live in.

We live at a fascinating point in history. Now is the time for everyone to get involved in the work of creating sustainable communities, villages, towns & cities. Communities, when resilient, enable people to weather the energy shocks that accompany peak oil and other major disruptions.
CAT invites you to the 2008 member’s conference to explore and then follow pathways of practical actions that will reduce our carbon emissions and dependence on fossil fuels. There will be workshops covering key issues including energy, transport, carbon offsetting, and greening the workplace. It will provide the opportunity to network with other interested members, discuss the issues presented by climate change, and pick up practical information and advice. Come along, get inspired and help us bring climate change to the top of the political agenda – places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment!

    Highlights Include:

  • Site tours of our visitors centre: come and see our new displays, the progress on our new WISE@CAT educational facility.
  • Workshops and discussions: Share your ideas, get involved with change, and help others with their projects.
  • Members Presentations: Share you projects and learn
  • from others about practical ways to help everyone make a difference.
  • Meet other members, visit our shop, and enjoy our home made food and organic beverages and dance the night away at our Saturday night live music
  • Parallel children’s events throughout the weekend
  • Members are invited to contribute ideas and discuss issues on the programme on the CAT discussion Forum
"I came here to have my environmental horizons broadened, and meet new people. I've had an excellent weekend and will go home with ideas and inspiration to further my bit. Count me in for next year!"

The 2008 CAT Members conference is set to be an inspiration in re-discovering traditional and sustainable lifestyles in order to overcome the energy crisis set to dominate the future of politics, technology and comunities.

If you have done any projects or research that you would like to share with other like minded people please contact the membership team on 01654 705988. Otherwise keep watching this space.

Come to CAT...... and have your say!
