We are looking for an enthusiastic
candidate for our location in Wageningen to strengthen our
Research & Development department in the position of Research
Assistant, Germplasm Maintenance (m/f, fulltime)
The job
In this
position you will set up seed increase cycles for wild and
unadapted plant materials.
Your tasks and responsibilities
-
Transplanting, pollinating,
harvesting, seed processing and packaging, and seed storage
management
-
Accurate phenotype collection,
analysis and reporting
-
Monitor crops for disease and
off types
-
Coordinate soil born disease
testing and seed treatments
-
Assist with database setup and
management of germplasm database
-
Possibly supervise contract
labor
Your qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in plant
biology (HBO) or a specialized professional (MBO level 4) in
an agricultural discipline
-
Computer proficiency,
particularly with Microsoft Office applications
-
Organized, with good record
keeping skills
-
Self-motivated, creative
person able to work with minimal supervision
-
Excellent interpersonal and
communication skills
-
Comfortable with field and
greenhouse work
-
Experience with vegetable
crops, Genetics / Plant Breeding /Statistical analysis
and/or molecular biology is a plus
-
Results and detail-oriented
and ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment
