Market Information Lead

Global Market Information Lead in St. Louis, Missouri.

The Global Market Information Lead will be responsible for
enhancing Monsanto Vegetable Seed Business’ market intelligence
capabilities by developing and implementing proprietary and
multi-client market research studies and by acquiring and
analyzing both internal and external market data. From the
analysis, this individual will develop specific recommendations
to support critical business decisions for our base seed
businesses. (The downstream value creation business will be the
key focus areas for this individual.)
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, execute
and interpret Kleffmann and other seed studies in key
countries in the Americas, EMEA and Asia regions to support
strategy development, branding, pricing, product
positioning, AP&M, resource allocation and new product
development decisions. Assist our Global and Regional
Marketing Managers in utilizing the data to support business
decisions.
- Validate internal market
data (YMIT) with external data sources.
- Analyze and summarize both
internal & external market data to develop implications and
recommendations.
- Design, develop, execute
and interpret Downstream Value Creation product concept
validation/valuation and product positioning/branding
studies with consumers, food retailers and restaurant/food
service businesses.
- Analyze downstream
vegetable markets in the key countries to support Downstream
Value Creation strategy development, NPV analyses,
investment prioritization, development of optimal product
positioning based on key value creation drivers, branding,
selection of preferred Business Partners and negotiation of
commercial license agreements.
- Work closely with the
Global Strategy & Marketing Leadership Team, Global Product
Managers, Regional Marketing Leads and Global & Regional
Business Development Leads to prioritize, develop and
implement market research and market analysis projects.
Required
Experience/Education/Attributes:
- Minimum BS in Marketing,
Business or a related field.
- 7-10 years’ experience in
marketing or market research.
- Strong strategic,
analytical and methodological skills to prioritize market
information needs, allocate resources and deliver actionable
information/recommendations.
- Proven leadership and
influencing skills and ability to work collaboratively with
cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.
- Capacity to communicate
and work effectively with all management levels in a
multi-national and multi-cultural organization.
- Strong verbal, written and
presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to
simultaneously manage multiple projects and priorities.
Desired
Experience/Education/Attributes:
- Experience in food
industry, seed industry and/or agriculture.
- Strong marketing research
experience.
- Consumer marketing or
market research experience.
- MBA or MS degree.
