Farm Manager position available at international vegetable seed company’s research and demonstration farm facility in Geneva, New York.

The qualified candidate should possess:

• Demonstrated knowledge and ability to organize and implement all farming activities from land preparation to harvesting.

• Necessary experience for growing all sorts of healthy vegetable crops.

• Ability to implement long term land stewardship concepts.

• Operational experience with appropriate types of farming equipment as well as equipment repair and maintenance. 

• A valid pesticide applicators license and applicable experience.

• Some experience in vegetable variety evaluations and data collection.

• Knowledge and experience with computer programs such as Excel, Outlook and Windows.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Maintenance for all buildings, equipment and properties.

• Operation and management of cold storage facility.

• Maintenance of seed inventory on electronic database.

• Possible trial work support in the Midwest, South East and Canada.

Special qualifications pertinent to this position:

• Experience with organic farming practices a plus.

• Applicant must be able to apply all of the above skills to both large scale agriculture as well as small plot work.
