The International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center  (CIMMYT) is seeking applications from innovative, self-motivated, scientifically outstanding plant breeders to support the development of high-yielding, stress tolerant maize germplasm in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The position contributes to and draws on the experiences of a dynamic multi-disciplinary research team with focus on abiotic and biotic stress tolerance and nutritional traits.

The position will be based at CIMMYT’s Harare Office in Zimbabwe but will involve travel to other CIMMYT field sites in eastern and southern Africa and involve collaboration with public and private, local and international partners.

The position will be appointed at a level appropriate to the experience of the selected candidate (Post-Doctoral Fellow, Associate Scientist).

The position is initially available for three years and could lead to a career position within CIMMYT.
