Equipment Assistant I/II
Job location: Waterman, Illinois

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to become an
integral member of the Research Equipment team at our Waterman,
Ilinois location. In this role the candidate will be a member of
the NA Corn Breeding Team and function as a technical expert to
various internal groups. Key interfaces include communication
with staff members located at multiple NA Corn Breeding sites,
and regional Safety team members.
Responsibilities include:

Assist with providing
technical knowledge on a variety of research equipment in
order to aid the equipment team in providing sound
recommendations for planning and strategy development.

Participate in the
development, implementation, and coordination of process
improvements in the business arena of Research Equipment.

Assist with equipment projects
and participation on various teams to monitor and improve
equipment performance.

Collect, analyze, and report
information related to equipment and capital projects are
also important responsibilities for this role.

Provide secondary equipment
support to breeding locations in order to resolve issues
that may prevent accurate and timely data collection.

Provide reporting of equipment
issues and solutions.

Participate in equipment
testing and evaluation through hands on data collection and
test management to ensure that specific test procedures are
followed.

Assist in communicating with
various suppliers regarding specific upgrading, servicing,
and repairing of research equipment.

Provide world wide equipment
support when needed.

Coordinate equipment training
for field personnel.

Communicate equipment detail
to ESH and Ag Engineering groups that may affect the overall
safety of equipment operation and manage safety updates to
Monsanto's fleet of research equipment.
The successful candidate will
possess:
-
4 year degree in Mechanized
Agriculture, Ag Systems Technology/Management or related
discipline including 1+ year of related work experience

Technical knowledge of
agricultural equipment

Proficiency with utilizing
database and spreadsheet software to manage information/data
-
Ability to analyze information
and deliver comprehensive recommendations

Ability to work under time
constraints and to handle multiple tasks

Strong interpersonal and
communication skills
-
Ability to communicate ideas
and concepts clearly and concisely
-
Ability to identify problems
and deliver effective solutions and work both individually
and as a part of a team
Willingness to:

Travel and relocate (periodic
overnight travel during the year is possible)

Adjust work schedule to meet
seasonal demands

Work weekends or extended
hours as work demands dictate
