We are seeking a motivated scientist to serve as an integral
part of a multidisciplinary team. Located in St. Louis, the
Research Assistant will conduct laboratory experiments and
manage individual lab-based projects within the DH optimization
team. Key responsibilities will include administering individual
research projects; recruiting, training, and developing
temporary personnel; interacting with scientists and breeders
for project-related needs; participating in task-related
document creation; ensuring overall safety of the site; and
taking lead responsibility for specific areas of research
program operations.
Successful candidates will possess an MS in Plant Sciences, such
as in Plant Breeding, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Plant
Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Botany, Plant Physiology,
Cytogenetics, or related fields. Computer proficiency with
strong leadership, organizational, communication and record
keeping skills are essential. Must be able to work effectively
as part of a multidisciplinary - multicultural corn research
team.
Some overnight travel will be required during spring planting
and fall harvest seasons, as well as occasional travel to winter
nursery sites.
