POSITION:  Postdoctoral Position

A postdoctoral position is available beginning September 1, 2008 in the Department of Plant Sciences and the Seed Biotechnology Center at the University of California, Davis.

The functional genomics project will fine-map genes associated with a QTL regulating temperature sensitivity of lettuce seed germination.

The role of a candidate gene encoding an enzyme in the ABA biosynthetic pathway will be specifically tested through silencing and mutation strategies. Global gene expression patterns will be analyzed by microarray and multiplexed PCR assays.

Experience in vector construction, transgenics, genetic mapping and microarray analysis preferred.
