The  American Council of Learned Societies is committed to protecting the privacy of visitors to the ACLS website. 

We do not track or store any personal information about visitors to the ACLS website. You may make use of its resources without providing any personal information.

Information you may provide for a specific purpose (e.g., for mailing of a publication) is used for the stated purpose.  

ACLS accepts online credit card transactions through its secure server. The credit card information you provide is transmitted for processing to a leading provider of secure electronic transactions. 

In addition to its public site, ACLS operates password-protected websites that use cookies. A “cookie”  is a small file the ACLS server places on the hard drive of your computer after you have successfully logged onto the site.  It retains your authentication so that you do not have to log in again during your session.  The cookie does not include any personal information.

ACLS password-protected websites may include additional privacy information specific to their use.

ACLS maintains standard web logs which are used for systems diagnostics and administration only. These data do not identify individual users.
