Welcome to
The Institute for the Social Sciences
The Institute for the Social Sciences is a critical component of Cornell's social science initiative. It was established in 2004 with the support of the President and Provost and reports to the Vice Provost of Social Sciences. The goals of the Institute are to encourage collaborations among social scientists across disciplinary and institutional boundaries, to engage the Cornell community--students, faculty, and staff--in discussions of cutting-edge topics in the social sciences, and to assist departments and programs in retaining top social science faculty and attracting new talent.
