The US Composting Council Foundation's mission is to further the composting industry based on sound scientific research.

History

The Composting Council Research and Education Foundation (CCREF) was incorporated on June 9, 1992 in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Foundation was established to fund research by third parties designed to further develop and enhance composting methods and techniques. In addition, the Foundation will use its funds to publish the research results for purposes of educating the general public

The Foundation is affiliated with the US composting Council, a tax exempt organization under Section 501(c.)(6) of the internal Revenue Code, through common board members. The Foundation and Council share office space, office equipment and staff.

The CCREF has been inactive for a number of years due to financial and staffing constraints. The USCC is working to reinvigorate the organization to once again begin doing research on the many issues in the composting industry. If you would like to donate to the CCREF click on “Donations” at the left of the screen.

Thank you for your interest.
