Day Visits: First Aid Procedure

First Aid Provision for School Day Visits to CAT

In the event of a medical emergency the Duty Manager, who is also a First Aider, would be contacted by radio by informing staff in the shop/railway/restaurant or reception, etc. Some of the Education Officers and other members of staff are also qualified first aiders.

The minor injuries unit at Bro Ddyfi Community Hospital in the town of Machynlleth, 3 miles south of CAT, is currently closed so patients need to travel to Bronglais Hospital, Aberystwyth. If an ambulance was needed then the patient would be taken to the Casualty Department of Bronglais Hospital, Aberystwyth, 18 miles south of Machynlleth.
