Kathleen Airdrie, Kathleen Airdrie

Kathleen Airdrie completed a creative writing course at Durham College in Oshawa, Ontario. At the beginning of her freelance work, several of her articles were published in "Early Canadian Life". Her writing appeared in "Seasons", the Ontario Naturalists' magazine.

She worked at a community newspaper where she wrote about local issues and events and covered many of those with her photography. In one of that paper's special editions, "Heritage Highlights", she presented several articles on the histories of area villages and people. As a result of that work, she became involved in recording personal stories, particularly those of seniors.

For many years Kathleen worked as staff person and as volunteer with community service and social organizations, often as co-ordinator and/or secretary, as well as counsellor.

During the past four years Kathleen has been involved in learning about her family's genealogy. She put together a preliminary book that presents not just names and dates, but also old photographs and extensive social histories.

Among her interests are gardening, photography, and cooking.
