Our mission is threefold:
1. To develop and conserve diverse regional
agricultural genetic resources, and provide growers with modern seed processing
resources.
2. To encourage the long-term sustained growth of (and facilitate
transition to) organic/alternative (low-input) agriculture by developing, in
cooperation with area farmers, regional varieties and local landraces of crops
and livestock well-adapted to these environmental and sociocultural conditions.
3. To maximize the benefits from these local/regional crop and livestock
resources to the farmers (and even gardeners) who maintain them.
