KENAI: Refuge Holds Winter Fun Day
Region 7, February 5, 2005
Near 20 degrees below zero temperatures did not sway the interest of nearly 50 hardy Refuge visitors that participated in Kenai National Wildlife Refuge's annual winter fun day. As temperatures rose above zero mid-day, so did the enthusiasm of the "Fun Day" participants. Four indoor activities and four outdoor activities rounded out the day with the snowshoe hare dress up and ice cream making from snow being most popular inside, and snowshoe walks and animal track searches most memorable outside events. Chili and hot drinks served in the Andrew Berg cabin by Refuge volunteer Bill Nelson were also a hit.
