I've been a writer ever since I learned to hold a pencil, and a professional writer for more than 25 years. During that time, I've written about everything from saving for retirement to how computers are used to diagnose illnesses.

Most recently, I've been lucky enough to write professionally about my favorite art form, quilting. I recently had articles published in Quilter's Newsletter Magazine and the Craft & Hobby Association's Portfolio magazine.

I've been quilting now for close to ten years, and the joy of creating something useful and beautiful from fabric never fades. Sometimes it seems that the biggest challenge is finding enough room to work in a tiny space stuffed with sewing machines, piles of fabric I just couldn't resist, UFOs (Unfinished Objects), tools, and gadgets--plus my husband's exercise bike and our guest bed! The challenge of working in less than ideal surroundings led me to explore better ways to organize my quilting space. I helped a nationally known professional organizer develop her first book, The Organizing Sourcebook, and in the process I learned a lot about getting organized.

Now I'm excited about sharing what I've learned about both quilting and organizing. If you're just getting started as a quilter, or if you're trying to find a way to conquer your clutter, let's have some fun together.

Drop me a note and let me know what you think of my articles or if you have other topics you'd like me to cover.
