Travel Information

National Scenic Byways Online (NSBO) and the National Scenic Byways Program (NSBP) can not provide tourist or travel planning information other than what is available on the website.

Try contacting the following to find out the most up-to-date information about traveling to and enjoying your destination:

• Travel agencies
• Chambers of commerce
• Visitor information centers
• Historical societies
• And many similar organizations

Image or Content Use

National Scenic Byways websites are government-sponsored and as such, any information created or compiled by National Scenic Byways personnel or program staff as part of the project is public domain. This includes most of the maps and many of the photos illustrating these pages.

However, NSB websites contain thousands of photos, maps, and articles that are copyrighted. They were supplied to us by professional photographers, graphic artists, authors and others as a courtesy and under the agreement that we control or restrict their distribution.

Website Content Updates

National Scenic Byways websites contain a vast amount of information from hundreds of sources, and is constantly being researched, written, and updated. Our research staff strives to obtain information from authoritative sources and keep the content up-to-date and accurate. However, mistakes and inaccuracies do occur.

Questions about the National Scenic Byways Program

In September 2003 National Scenic Byways Online split into two websites to match its two primary audiences: the traveler and the byway professional community. Program-related content is minimal on this, the traveler website, and may be found in the Learn About Byways section.
