1. Q: Will I fit in at my age?

A: Often, students in evening classes are older students. On the other hand, younger students are very supportive of older students.

2. Q: How can I help my family adjust to my new life as a student?

A: Sit down with all family members, discuss how returning to school will change everyone’s life, and express your love that will be forever, even though you will not be spending as much time with them. Don’t underestimate your family. They can be your support system. Ask them for help.

3. Q: Can I handle classes and fulltime work?

A: Yes. While it takes a great deal of dedication and effective time management, and even personal sacrifice, college work and employment can be carefully scheduled and efficiently handled.

4. Q: Where do I go to study in-between classes?

A: The William C. Jason Library is a quiet spot on campus.

5. Q: How do I, as a commuting student, keep up with college events?

A: Read the Hornet, the student newspaper, which is published bi-monthly. The publication reports informative and current student issues. Bulletin boards throughout campus are used to post pertinent information on college events.

6. Q: What about transportation and carpooling?

A: For information on carpooling, contact DelDot or visit the DelDot website. Dart Buses also make regularly scheduled stops at the front entrance to campus.

7. Q: Is tutoring available on campus?

A: Tutoring is available on campus under the direction of Student Academic Support. One-on-one help is can be scheduled and reading specialists are available on campus. Accommodations for students with disabilities can also be arranged.

8. Q. Is counseling available on campus?

A. Counseling for returning students is available. For counseling assistance, contact the Comprehensive Learning Center at 857-6385.
