The Purpose:

Our goal is to foster a culture of interdisciplinary collaboration across the state and to enhance the research infrastructure at each of the partner institutions of higher learning within the framework of the theme of “complex environmental systems and ecosystem health.”

At DSU: CIES and The Ethics Resource Site

The interdisciplinary research focus is on scientific issues of concern in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems in Delaware and the Mid-Atlantic region. The major long-term goal of this project is to establish a “Center for Integrated Ecosystem Studies.”

An integral part of this EPSCoR project is an ethics and public policy component. The Ethics Resource Site has been established at DSU as a repository of expertise in both normative ethical theory and applied ethics, in areas that include (but are not limited to): bioethics, environmental ethics, and ethics in technology.
