ADAAG (Enforceable Standards)
This regulation, issued by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) under title III of the ADA for places of public accommodation and commercial facilities, includes enforceable standards for new and altered facilities. These standards are identical to the ADA Accessibility Guidelines (ADAAG) published by the Board in 1991. It is the standards, not the BoardÂ’s guidelines, that must be followed under the ADA. The DOJ regulation includes include important information on applying and following the design standards, including effective dates, facilities covered by the standards, and other topics. [176 pages]
