| This regulation, issued by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) under title III of the ADA for places of public accommodation and commercial facilities, includes enforceable standards for new and altered facilities. These standards are identical to the ADA Accessibility Guidelines (ADAAG) published by the Board in 1991. It is the standards, not the BoardÂ’s guidelines, that must be followed under the ADA.
