Environmental media at Superfund sites include air, soil, sediment and surface and groundwater that can be contaminated by hazardous chemicals, which typically are mixtures of metals, solvents, and other organic chemicals. SBRP-funded researches have taken a broad, multidisciplinary approach to provide a foundation to support the development of public health and environmental policies that can limit or prevent human exposure to such hazardous chemicals.
