Pulmonary / Cardiovascular Toxicity

Superfund Basic Research Program

Some environmental contaminants have pulmonary and cardiovascular effects on human health when they affect the respiratory and circulatory systems, respectively. SBRP-funded research focuses on developing reliable indicators and rapid assessment for detecting the risks of short and long-term exposures. Specifically, additional effort is necessary to develop systems capable of evaluating hazardous waste sites for the presence of potential lung and blood toxicants.

Use the search tools below to find additional information about SBRP-funded research projects addressing the pulmonary/cardiovascular toxicity of environmental contaminants.
