Superfund Basic Research Program

Numerous contaminants found at Superfund sights have been categorized as carcinogenic. This link has been made for arsenic, chromium, lead, PAHs, VOCs, and mixtures. SBRP-funded research has focused on finding casual links between contaminants and cancer in order to provide policy makers and health officials with a better understanding of clean up, precautionary, and remediation efforts.
