Courses are taught in a variety of formats, ranging from large lectures to small, seminar-style courses emphasizing discussion. Some courses are also taught through Distance Education.
In our commitment to developing students' critical thinking and writing skills, all classes include writing assignments, which might involve essay examinations, book reviews, or research papers. Those students who are interested in developing their research and writing skills further are encouraged to consider opportunities such as a senior Honors Thesis or an independent study with a faculty member. • Why Study History? • Program Requirements • Undergraduate Advising • Undergraduate Catalog • Current Course Listings • History FAQ • History Scholarships • History Syllabi The History Department welcomes your interest in our undergraduate program and looks forward achieve your academic and career goals.
