(CVI) Counterflow Virtual Impactor deployment

Station Information

The Counterflow Virtual Impactor (CVI) is a device for preferentially sampling cloud droplets, while not sampling interstitial aerosol particles. The CVI will be deployed this summer at Pt. Reyes, CA as part of an experiment funded by DOE's Atmospheric Science Program (ASP) to study cloud-aerosol interactions. The CVI will be located at the ARM Mobile Facility (AMF) and operate in tandem with a GMD-mentored aerosol observing system (AOS). Results from CVI-related research have been described in a multitude of publications.
