University Affiliate Program

NCSE's University Affiliate Program enhances environmental education, research, and funding within academic programs at over 150 member institutions across the United States. Universities and colleges play a critical role in preparing a new generation of environmental professionals and leaders. NCSE works to strengthen environmental programs within higher education as part of its vision - a society where environmental decisions are based on an accurate understanding of the underlying science, its meaning and limitations, and the potential consequences of action or inaction.

Affiliate institutions, from large private and public research institutions to smaller liberal arts institutions, receive a range of membership benefits including:

• networking and collaboration through the Council of Environmental Deans and Directors (CEDD) - a professional society for the environmental leaders on Affiliate campuses. CEDD has emerged as the leading organization working to improve the quality, stature and effectiveness of interdisciplinary environmental programs on the nation’s campuses. CEDD's programs include curricular advancement, career paths, best practices in corporate sustainability, and climate change education
• participation in the annual National Conference on Science, Policy and the Environment
