IOWA SOYBEAN ASSOCIATION NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM


URBANDALE, Iowa - The Iowa Soybean Association (ISA) is now accepting applications for the ISA Ag Scholarship Program. There are two different scholarships that will be awarded in 2009.

Scholarships worth $2,000 will be awarded to 10 high school seniors who wish to pursue agriculture-related degrees. The recipients must be enrolled in an ag-related field for the 2009 fall semester at a college or university. Get the application HERE.

Also, a scholarship worth $1,000 will be awarded from Linda Funk, executive director of The Soyfoods Council. This is open to high school seniors or a freshman or sophomore in college pursuing culinary arts, food and nutrition or a foodservice degree. Get the application HERE.

The application materials and criteria have been sent to high school guidance counselors, FFA offices, DMACC and Iowa State University culinary departments. It is also available on ISA’s Web site, www.iasoybeans.com. Applications must be postmarked by March 1, 2009, and award recipients will be notified by April 15, 2009. The Iowa Soybean Association develops policies and programs that help farmers expand profit opportunities while promoting environmentally sensitive production using the soybean checkoff and other resources. The Association is governed by an elected volunteer board of 21 farmers.
