"The Daily Planet." This site is operated by the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Illinois, under a cooperative agreement with NASA. It provides general earth sciences data with an emphasis on meteorology and climatology. The site includes a lot of innovative educational material for students from Kindergarten through the 12th grade. (link verified 25 June 2008)

Dartmouth Flood Observatory. Project of Dartmouth College's Global Flood Monitoring and Analysis Project. The project emphasizes the use of flood images obtained from high resolution synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites. Using the images and information gleaned from other sources, this site provides "an evolving database of extreme flood events which have occurred in areas around the world since January 1, 1994."
