A majority of Asian (90 percent) and Native Hawaiian/other Pacific Islander (60 percent), and 40 percent of Hispanic doctoral S&E faculty were born outside the United States.
More than 80 percent of white, American Indian/Alaska Native, and multiple race doctoral S&E faculty were born in the United States.
