Minorities, with the exception of Hispanics, show no increase in their proportion of undergraduate engineering enrollment over the past 10 years.
- The percentage of undergraduate engineering students who are white was 69 percent in 1995 and in 2005.
- The Asian share of undergraduate engineering enrollment increased between 1990 and 2003 and has decreased since then.
- Black students were roughly 7 percent of engineering undergraduates from 1995 through 2001 and roughly 6 percent since then.
- Native Americans were 0.6 to 0.7 percent of undergraduate engineering enrollment from 1995 through 2005.
- Hispanic enrollment generally increased over this period, from 7 percent in 1995 to close to 9 percent in 2005.
