State Category Rankings Chart
Since the 1999/2000 survey, Illinois has annually ranked among the
top four states nationwide in its use of technology in government.
This chart shows the progression, going back to 1997, as Illinois
evolved from being ranked 36th and 49th, to becoming the leader it
is today. Based on data submitted annually from the Illinois Technology
Office since 1999, the Digital State Survey evaluates state governments
in their use of technology in fulfilling their responsibility to the
public. The survey results, both by category and overall score, show
Illinois’ rank among the 50 states for the past five surveys.
