Proposed Rollison Marina at Shoal Creek

Wilson Reservoir, Lauderdale County, Alabama

TVA and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) request your comments on a draft environmental assessment (DEA) of a private marina, loading dock, and associated facilities on Wilson Reservoir.

In December 2007, TVA and USACE received a joint permit application from Mr. Randy Rollison for construction of a multiple-slip commercial marina, floating walkways, fuel and pump-out dock, boat launching/loading platform, and an L-configured breakwater fronting his property on Shoal Creek. Land-based activities on his private land would include construction of a dry stack boat storage building, ship store, restaurant, and retail space. The marina and associated amenities would primarily function to serve the boating public and provide short-term mooring on Wilson Reservoir. TVA and USACE have prepared the DEA of the effects of permitting, constructing, and operating these facilities. The development would be located along the right bank of Shoal Creek at Mile 1.4, opposite Tennessee River Mile 264.4, right bank.

The marina, loading dock, floating walkways, launch/loading platform, breakwater, and associated shoreline improvements require approval by TVA under Section 26a of the TVA Act and by the USACE under Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act.
