Welcome to our 2009 Professional Seed Catalog

As the country's oldest and largest producer of 100% organic seeds, Seeds of Change understands the specialized needs of organic produce growers. That's why we've created this separate all-organic catalog just for you - offering a broader selection of organic seed varieties than other professional seed catalogs. Unlike some companies who offer conventional untreated seeds, we offer only 100% organically produced seeds.

We also in 2009 offering a unique and expanded range of organic hybrid seed varieties. These varieties have been selected for their combination of superior agronomic traits, adaptability to organic farming conditions and culinary excellence. They are offered in multiple seed count units and a selection of them can be offered as organically pelletizedand primed seeds. We believe that, together with our traditional line of superior open pollinated varieties, we have the perfect choice for any producer or growing operation, be it a farmer's market grower or a large-scale commercial farm.

You can count on Seeds of Change varieties for superior performance on organic farms, season after season. We start on our Research Farm with a program to carefully screen and trial all varieties. We then take great care in the entire process of production, cleaning and testing the seed, to ensure we maintain this quality. Your success depends on the superior agronomic performance of our seed: genetically vigorous and physically pure!

Seeds of Change seeds are 100% Certified Organic by Oregon Tilth. All of our professional seed varieties are listed on the OMRI organic seed database (www.omri.org) as commercially available products, to assist you with your variety selection.

We thank you for your confidence in our products and look forward to continuing to serve your needs!

Why so many professional growers insist on the Seeds of Change Organic Advantage

100% ORGANIC SEED IS ‘BETTER SEED’
Planting organic seed is the best choice for you, your farm, and the environment we all share, because the seed is produced without the use of pesticides and fertilizers. The outcome of organic seed production is an inherently Better Seed, which performs better in an organic or low-input farm in comparison to conventionally grown seeds. Organic seed allows you to utilize germplasm actually grown on organic farms and selected for several generations for adaptability to organic growing conditions. A 100% organic farm is the key to a healthy soil, a healthy ecosystem and sustainable agriculture—and nothing performs better than 100% organic seeds.

EXTENSIVE BREEDING AND VARIETY TRIALS
Just north of Santa Fe, New Mexico, the Seeds of Change staff cultivates over a thousand varieties of vegetables, flowers and herbs. Every year, we rigorously evaluate these and hundreds of new varieties from around the world on our Research Farm, working organic farms, and university-based trials. We continually monitor and quality check our varieties to develop superior traits and adaptability to a wide range of growing conditions—nobody knows organic seeds as well as we do!

TOTAL CONTROL FROM OUR FARM TO YOURS
Our staff personally monitors every step of our seed’s life; from the mantainance of our planting stock, to our network of specialized organic seed farms across the country, to our in-house certified organic seed cleaning facility—this control and attention to detail gives you complete confidence in the performance of our products.

AN UNWAVERING COMMITMENT TO QUALITY
We understand what you need from our seeds, and we have a rigorous Complete Quality Assurance program to ensure their highest performance. After cleaning, all our seed is tested for purity and germination, plant uniformity and trueness-to-type, as well as absence of high-risk diseases—making sure you can trust what you see in this catalog is what you get in your field!

LINKING THE FARM AND FOOD
Seeds of Change sponsors regular events that link the farmers who plant our seeds with the distributors who bring their produce to market and the chefs who prepare this food. We understand the crop you grow is the food someone else eats, and that you desire to deliver a premium, high-value product. We therefore make certain our varieties flourish not only in the field, but also in gourmet marketplaces, the finest restaurants and in the best food products. We want to be your partner in the production of crops that ensure you the best return on your investment—delivering products with the flavor, fragrance and beauty that keep your customers coming back.

MANY HEIRLOOM AND TRADITIONAL VARIETIES
You’ll also find many rare and heirloom varieties that have been saved for generations in this catalog. They have treasured traits that are well worth preserving, and all offer exceptional sensory satisfaction of flavor, aroma and visual beauty from the field to the table—we think these special foods should be protected and savored.
