It is strongly recommended that individuals and families make a reservation to guarantee their place on a tour.  Tour times are seasonal and are listed below.  Visitors may not enter the house unless they are on a Ranger-led tour.

There is a $1.50 per person service charge for reservations. 

Tour times:

Mid-June - Labor Day:

9:00, 12:15, 3:00, 3:30, 4:00

Labor Day - Mid-October:

9:00, 12:15, 1:45, 3:00, 3:30, 4:00

Mid-October - Mid-April:

9:00, 12:15, 1:45, 3:00, 3:30

Mid-April - Mid-June:

9:00, 12:15, 1:45, 3:00, 3:30, 4:00

Maximum 10 people per tour.




Reservations are required for groups of 11 or more. There is a 60 person maximum on all group tours.

Group tours are available at 9:30, 10:45 and 2:00

Price per person: $1.50

School group flat fee: $5.00 service charge

Pileated Woodpeckers are the 2nd largest woodpecker in North America. Male has a red ‘moustache’ and the female has black. Lifespan in the wild can be 8-12 years. The pileated is the only member of the woodpecker family that drills an oval-shaped hole.
