Cayla Collins signs with MCC Softball

Senior Cayla Collins has verbally committed to play for Marshalltown Community College and Head Coach Jeff Lamb this past Monday, December 1st. Cayla set a school record for home - runs last season, helping the Pella Christian Eagles to a share of the conference title with Oskaloosa High School.

"Cayla will play a huge role in our success in the 2010 season. She is very offensive and will be a great corner infielder for us. She comes with success already under her belt and with an extremely hard working attitude. We think she is going to really help us get the ball rolling for this year's recruiting class."

Cayla, a third baseman from Pella Christian will join a well balanced sophomore class of 11 returners next year.

The Tiger's spring season will begin at home against Iowa Western Community College on March 10th, 2009. This will be Coach Lamb's first year as Head Coach for the Tigers.

Brittany Redlich adds depth to MCC pitching staff

Brittany Redlich signs with MCC Softball

Brittany Redlich, a right handed pitcher from Oskaloosa High School has committed to play softball for Marshalltown Community College and the Tigers Coach Lamb. Brittany helped Oskaloosa to a share of the Little Hawkeye Conference title with Pella Christian in 2008. Over the past two years Brittany has collected 18 wins on the mound and has also proven to be a threat at the plate as a Designated Hitter. She will join sophomores Ashley Allen, Danielle Fitzgerald and Sara Samuelson on the 2010 pitching staff.

"Brittany has the potential to really help us out on the mound. I believe with the help of our sophomores she will develop into a very strong pitcher and she also gives us another weapon at the plate with her bat. She brings a strong academic background to the table and that is what our program is going to be built around."

Oskaloosa shortstop, Megan Gott, commits to be a Tiger

Megan Gott signs with MCC Softball

Megan Gott, a senior from Oskaloosa High School has committed to play for the Marshalltown Community College Tigers and Coach Jeff Lamb. Megan was a key component to Oskaloosa's Co-Championship team which won 27 games last summer. Megan is a right handed hitter with sure hands in the middle of the infield. Last year she ended with a batting average of .336 and drove in 15 runs. Her versatility will add to the depth of the 2010 Tiger's squad.

"Megan has the potential to help our team all over the infield. With her bat and glove she should be in the line-up every day, although she may not be at the same position. It really takes a special player to move around the infield with ease and I believe Megan has that potential. She should add some middle of the order power to our line-up as well. She is also a very good student in the classroom which is how we want the community to view all of our players."

Megan joins Brittany Redlich and Cayla Collins on the 2010 recruiting class. All three ladies play in the Little Hawkeye conference and hold a share of the title from 2008.
