About EdPARC
EdPARC Teacher Education
The Education Public Access Resource Center is UMAC's teacher education group, which focuses principally on K-12 curriculum development in topics related to GIS, GPS, and remote sensing. EdPARC develops and disseminates curriculum and builds teacher expertise via:

  • hands-on training workshops
  • online courses
  • in-service K-12 instruction
  • pre-service education at the college and university level
  • community adult education

EdPARC Activities
Activities range from 1 or 2-day short courses to a semester-long online class, and have been taken principally by K-12 teachers, but also by other educators, agricultural producers, and other interested individuals. EdPARC also makes presentations at regional science symposiums and national conferences, including the international ESRI Education Users Conference, and develops supporting case studies and and other educational materials in spatial technology related topics or applications.
EdPARC History
Since 1998 EdPARC has provided training to over 800 educators, who have in turn introduced remote sensing and spatial data concepts to many thousands of students in the UMAC region. Go to the EdPARC Website to learn about available workshops, teacher curriculum modules, online resources, and more.

If you are from ID, MT, ND, SD, or WY, you can contact your individual EdPARC Statewide Coordinators.
