Forestry as a Major
Foresters – uniquely qualified professionals who care for trees and forests – go to college to learn the art and practice of forestry.  Through comprehensive coursework and practical field experience they acquire the knowledge, skills, and abilities to practice their profession.  Explore forestry as a career choice!

Accreditation and Recognition
SAF reviews and evaluates academic degree programs in forestry and forest technology.  Explore the SAF accreditation and recognition handbooks, find out who is serving on the Committees on Accreditation and Forest Technology School Recognition, and see what actions the committees have taken.

Continuing Forestry Education (CFE)
Some say available knowledge doubles every couple of years.  Staying current has become a “must” for responsible foresters and allied professionals – and continuing education is mandatory for maintaining certification and meeting many licensing or registration criteria.  SAF offers on-line CFEs, catalogues education opportunities, assesses CFE credits, and even sponsors a program of recognition.  Check it out!

Forestry for K-12
If you're like most people, you like trees and forests, but how much do you really know about forests or the people who care for them? This site offers young people, educators, and communicators the links and tools needed to answer forestry questions, introduce a new concept to a class, or lead a walk in the forest for the community. Right this way for forestry info!
