IMMEDIATE RELEASE Wednesday, June 26, 2002 "I am very pleased with today's House action sending to conference bills on Trade Promotion Authority, preferences to the Andean nations, Trade Adjustment Assistance, and the Generalized System of Preferences. It is critical that the House and Senate move forward and reconcile these bills as soon as possible. Free trade is a top priority for the Bush Administration, and these bills are critical to the long term best interests of the nation's workers, families, farmers and businesses. I encourage the Senate and House to continue to work hard to send President Bush a strong trade bill that he can sign, and to do so as soon as possible." |
