International Visitors Set Record in June Pumping More Than $10 Billion into the U.S. Economy

Washington (Sept. 5)—At a meeting of the U.S. Travel and Tourism Advisory Board, Secretary of Commerce Carlos M. Gutierrez announced new travel data that shows international visitors spent more than $10 billion in the United States in June 2007, an all-time high for the month of June, putting the U.S. on track for another record-setting year. “The continuous, positive increase in arrivals and spending underscores the strength of the U.S. as a tourism destination,” said Secretary Gutierrez.
