On the afternoon of August 11, about 40 people arrived at Angelic Organics Learning Center—from Chicago, Rockford, and points in between—for an unforgettable experience. They were coming to our first-ever benefit event held at our farm, and helped raise more than $3,650 for the Learning Center’s educational programs. After a tour of the farm, the group sat down to share a one-of-a kind seasonal meal presented by the talented chefs from Sunday Dinner. Angelic Organics’ vegetable fields, which had already yielded many of the delicious ingredients for the meal, were transformed into an outdoor dining room. As dinner was served, each of the five courses was “paired” with stories about the Learning Center’s impact in the community. With a spectacular sunset as the backdrop, the chefs made a final dash into the fields to harvest some anise hyssop to garnish the dessert!
