YOU'RE INVOLVED IN THE
POLITICAL PROCESS - LIKE IT OR NOT!

NOW YOU CAN HELP ELECT CANDIDATES WHO SUPPORT OUR INDUSTRY.

As a businessperson and a taxpayer your voice matters, and you can influence the policies that affect us. The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association's ROCKPAC political action committee strives to represent our industry at every occasion.

"Our company's employees have long-supported ROCKPAC. They
recognize the value that it brings through its work to elect candidates who
agree with the aggregates industry's agenda."

- Mac Badgett, Vulcan Materials Company

A PART OF YOUR SUCCESS

On a bipartisan basis, ROCKPAC supports pro-aggregates, pro-transportation, pro-business candidates. While this process tends to favor incumbent members of Congress, ROCKPAC finds worthy candidates by studying their voting records and stated positions on the issues. NSSGA members play a significant role in bringing these candidates to our attention.

"ROCKPAC multiplies the power of my donations to candidates, opening
doors for our company and industry."

- Steve Sloan, Midwest Minerals, Inc.

WHAT HAS ROCKPAC DONE?

  • ROCKPAC contributed to a total of 228 candidates for Congress in 2006 who appeared on the ballot Election Day, up from 169 just two years earlier.
  • ROCKPAC supported the winning candidates in a vast majority of these races that it participated in, scoring an 87 percent success rate in a volatile election year.
  • Out of the 228 candidates ROCKPAC supported, 197 of them were victorious.
  • ROCKPAC contributed $637,250 during the 2005-2006 election cycle (beginning January 1, 2005), an increase of over $181,000 and 40 percent from two years before.
  • For the 14-year period covering the election cycles of 1994 through 2006, ROCKPAC increased the amount of money contributed by 914 percent.

"ROCKPAC provides the means that helps to influence our
representatives in Washington to ensure the sustainability of our company and our
industry."

- Don Eshleman, Oldcastle Materials, Inc.
