Fees & Reservations
 

Reservations
Campgrounds within the preserve are offered on a first-come first-served basis, no reservations are accepted.

Some Ranger-led activities require advance reservations to participate in the activities. Reservations are accepted up to 14 days prior to the date of the activity. Contact the Oasis Visitor Center, at 239-695-1201, for details on activities and to make reservations. You may request reservations by email by clicking here.

Reservations may be made for education programs, special request programs or off-site programs by contacting the preserve's Education and Outreach Coordinator at 239-695-1164, or by email by clicking here. Availability of requests is limited by staff availability.

 

Fees
There is no entrance fee to access the preserve. Fees are collected within the preserve for some facilities and the processing of Off-Road Vehicle permits.

Facilities
Campgrounds

Fees are collected for the use of the Midway Campground. Fees are collected at Monument Lake Campground from December 15 through April 15. There are free campgrounds within the preserve as well. Camping is limited to 10 days.

Monument Lake Campground
RV and Tent sites $16.00 per night / $8.00 with Senior or Access Pass. Campers are allowed to use the Dona Drive or Midway Campground dump station at no cost, while staying in preserve.  Fees charged December 15 through April 15, otherwise free.

Midway Campground
RV site $19.00 per night / $10.00 with Senior or Access Pass. Tent site $16.00 per night / $8.00 with Senior or Access Pass Dump Station free to campers.

Dump Stations
$6.00 / $3.00 with Senior or Access Pass for camping units not utilizing preserve campgrounds.

Off-Road Vehicle Permits

An annual ORV permit, displayed on the inspected vehicle, is required for ORV operation along preserve trails.  The permit can be obtained at the Oasis Visitor Center.  Fee is $50.00 annually.

Did You Know?
There are few "big cypress" in Big Cypress National Preserve. The name comes from the great expanse of cypress forest, hundreds of thousands of acres, within the Big Cypress Swamp.
