The Total Picture Below is the breakdown of costs for a full-time student (resident or non-resident) living on campus, with estimated book costs and miscellaneous living expenses. Tuition & Fees (All fees estimated on a per semester basis) Iowa Resident, per credit hour: $145. Out-of-State & International Students, per credit hour (average full-time freshman = 15 hours): $175. Iowa resident taking 15 credit hours: $2,175. Out-of-state or international student taking 15 credit hours: $2,625. Miscellaneous (clothing, mileage, postage, phone calls, recreation, etc.): $400-$750. Tuition and fee policies are based on a sharing of cost by students, taxpayers of Iowa Valley Community College District, and the State of Iowa. State reimbursement is received for students who are residents of Iowa; none is received for non-residents. On average, state appropriations provide approximately 47 percent of the cost of education at IVCCD. The IVCCD Board of Directors reserves the right to change tuition and fee schedules, as well as refund policies, in accordance with federal and state laws.

Total: $8,884 Marshalltown Community College is a comprehensive, public college operated by Iowa Valley Community College District. IVCCD is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA), and approved by the Iowa Department of Education.
