Northwest Energy Efficient Manufactured Housing Program
NEEM / Energy Star Manufactured Homes
Northwest home manufacturers, the region´s electric and gas utilities, and the Northwest states have teamed up to offer home buyers certified energy-efficient manufactured homes. NEEM and Energy Star® labeled manufactured homes are built to save 30 percent on heating bills, compared to manufactured homes built to federal standards.   These homes have:
• More insulation in ceilings, walls and floors
• Better windows and doors
• A specially designed -- and quiet -- ventilation system
• Better sealed heating ducts
• Reduced drafts

The NEEM and Energy Star® labels mean the Oregon Department of Energy has approved design plans for the home, made inspections at the plant and will provide support for energy-efficiency features after you buy the home.
In most places in Oregon and in many jurisdictions throughout the Northwest, you can put NEEM/Energy Star® labeled homes anywhere a site-built home can go because they meet or exceed site-built energy standards.
Many Oregon utilities are currently offering incentives for NEEM home buyers.

For more information on NEEM/Energy Star® homes, send an e-mail message to Tom Hewes, or call (503) 373-7875 or 1-800-221-8035 (toll-free in Oregon).
