Oral Histories

The Office of the Public Health Service Historian has a small but growing collection of oral histories. This collection includes interviews with doctors who worked at Ellis Island during the early twentieth century, immigrants who stayed at the PHS Hospital on Ellis Island and interviews with major figures in the Public Health Service including various Surgeons General.

Transcripts of these histories are available on request and we ask that you contact us directly for information on the collection.
