Family Nature Camp
Take home more than souvenirs and photos! "What we did on our summer vacation" is given new meaning by families participating in a week-long Family Nature Camp at College of the Atlantic. As a family, you will discover the natural wonders and enjoy the majestic beauty of the Maine Coast and Acadia National Park.

Summer Field Studies for Children
Whether holding a beautiful sea urchin, canoeing through the grasses of a salt marsh, or peering closely at intriguing macroinvertebrates, participants in this day camp program spend fun-filled days exploring outdoors. "It just isn't summer without COA camp," insists one third grader. One and two week sessions for young people entering first through twelfth grade are offered through the summer.

Islands Through Time
Earn college credit in one of the most beautiful places on earth!
Islands Through Time is College of the Atlantic's summer program for rising high school juniors and seniors who want to:
- Learn in multiple settings: classroom, boat, mountain and seashore
- Explore the connections between science, art, and the humanities
- Engage in an intensive program of reading and study combined with active, applied learning opportunities
College of the Atlantic focuses on the relationships between humans and their environments in an integrative manner (Human Ecology). This program will explore environmental, aesthetic, cultural, political, historical, ad economic aspects of coastal Maine islands.
Islands Through Time will provide you with opportunities to reflect on your place in the world and to develop skills you will use in college and beyond. We are looking for a select group of students willing to take advantage of a unique educational opportunity at a pivotal moment in their lives. Are you ready for the challenge?

The Sixth International Conference on Serpentine Ecology - June 16 - 23, 2008
The conference will be held on the campus of the College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, located on Mount Desert Island on the rocky coast of Maine. The Conference provides an opportunity for the gathering of serpentinophiles from around the world, every 2-4 years, to share and discuss their findings relating to the broad and inter-disciplinary field of serpentine ecology. Participants include botanists, zoologists, ecologists, pedologists, geologists, microbiologists, evolutionary geneticists and conservation biologists. Yoga and Meditation Retreat - August 10 - 16, 2008
 Join Michelle Morrison for six days of yoga and meditation, surrounded by the incredible beauty of Acadia National Park. Held at the sea-side College of the Atlantic on Mount Desert Island, this retreat is sure to rejuvenate body, mind, and spirit. The retreat will include daily sitting meditation, yoga classes, workshops, and plenty of free time to rest, reconnect with nature, hike, swim, or explore the island towns.
