CCCC Sports

Whether it's a tight basketball game for the conference title or an intramural bowling match, sports compose a vital part of student life at Central Carolina Community College. Sports encourage college pride and spirit as they bring students and faculty together to cheer for their teams.

Over the years the Central Carolina Cougars have competed and won championships in various sports in conference and intramural competition. CCCC is a Region 10, Division III member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and competes in the Tarheel Conference.

Both the men's and women's basketball teams play conference and non-conference games, while the volleyball team only competes in conference. The basketball teams play their regular conference schedule and a non-conference schedule that includes games against other junior colleges and JV and club teams from four-year universities.

A full-time student athlete must maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average (GPA) and carry at least twelve hours of classes to be qualified to participate in NJCAA athletics at CCCC. Students must take complete physicals which are not paid for by the college prior to participating.

The college does not offer student athletic scholarships, but student athletes can apply for financial aid.

Athletic life at CCCC continues to grow. Sports activities can enhance your college experience.
